We are especially proud of our devoted, highly trained staff for their positive influence on the many youth who visit our campus. The relatively small size of our camp enables us to create a close-knit community through staff interaction with campers/students. All Mountain Campus staff must complete a rigorous 2 week training and certification program. Our staff is handpicked from a pool of qualified individuals based on their experience working with youth, outdoor education/adventure skills, personal background, in-depth personal interviews and pertinent certifications.
Morgan & Jon Tebeau – Mountain Campus Co-Directors
Morgan has a diverse professional background as a facilitator and administrator of youth development through experiential education and outdoor adventure. As the director of the Mountain Campus, Morgan specializes in delivering group experiences packed with energy, excitement, and education.
Jon is a Michigan native who has varied experience in the outdoor education field. Jon has completely immersed himself in the Mountain Campus experience for the past two years; finding his niche among the bears and squirrels of the Shenandoah Valley. As the Co-Director of the Mountain Campus, Jon takes pride in delivering a fine-tuned program that challenges and compels others to constantly strive for their personal best.
Sandy: Program Coordinator
This is Sandy’s third year with Mountain Campus. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a special degree in Animal-Caving-Education-Funology. Not only is she certified in Project Learning Tree, Project WET, and Project Underground but she also specializes in getting youth excited about nature and everything wonderful about it.
Microscope Matt: Senior Instructor
Matt has a passion for the outdoors. He has been a part of the Mountain Campus team for 3 seasons now. His talent is making the outdoors and education mix together like peanut butter and jelly! Take an adventure with Microscope Matt at the pond and discover a whole new world!
Steve: Instructor
As a graduate of Michigan State, Steve’s favorite colors are green & white. His passion for rock climbing has led him to outdoor education where he excels at bringing the best of nature and adventure to every MC visitor!
George: Buildings & Grounds
George has been around Mountain Campus for the last 13 years. He knows the ins-and-outs of everything. He can fix anything, knows everyone, and is often seen driving a bus full of kids to their next adventure. He’s all business (unless he’s got a new joke).
Chef Suzy: Super Star/Food Service Manager
Chef Suzy makes the greatest kid friendly food anywhere. Not only is it good - but she offers a wide range of choices to please even the pickiest eaters. When she thinks no one is around - she's known to host her own music concerts!
Piggy: Food Disposal Service
This little pig comes from a fine line of proper Yorkshire Hogs from Peabody’s farm. When not properly managing our food waste – he finds time to sleep, and roll in the mud.
