Thanks for your inteest in our community

Sheridan School, an independent day school in Washington, D.C., runs and owns the 130 acre Mountain Campus bordering the Shenandoah National Park in Luray, Virginia, where students, campers and special groups can relax and escape from the city as they experience opportunities for fun, friendship and growth in a safe environment.

Nestled in the foothills of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, our naturally wooded setting provides the ideal environment for challenging activities. Our campus has plenty of space for recreation, a dining hall that serves well-balanced meals and a rustic tent village for cozy campouts. Our Nature Center is a great place for environmental studies and cooperative challenges and our campfire areas are great for gatherings and roasting marshmallows!

With our High Ropes Team Challenge (*NEW for 2009!), 40 foot Rock Climbing Wall, Ropes Courses, Natural Swimming Hole, a Zip Line that takes campers on a 500 foot ride, Canoes and the Shenandoah River at our doorstep, we keep a smile on everyone's face.

Philosophy

The Sheridan Mountain Campus is an outdoor residential facility that promotes learning, cooperation, responsibility, environmental awareness, community and resourcefulness through experiential education and adventure challenges. We provide a safe community in which participants are encouraged to deepen their understanding of each other, themselves and their natural environment through problem solving, exploration and communication.
