The Perfect Place to Be:
Sheridan School Mountain Campus
|
Sheridan School, an independent day school in Washington, D.C., runs and owns the 130 acre mountain campus bordering the Shenandoah National Park in Luray, Virginia, where
students, campers and special groups can relax and escape from the city as they experience marvelous opportunities for fun, friendship and growth in a safe environment. Nestled in the foothills of the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains in the
heart of the Shenandoah Valley, our naturally wooded setting provides
the ideal environment for challenging activities. The campus is filled
with rocky slopes, meadows, mountain ravines, streams, woods, fields,
ponds and remote wilderness areas. In the middle of all this - our camp,
with chalet houses, a large dining area, a comfortable infirmary, and
spaces for recreation and meals.
We have hot water, pit privies, a
shower house and tents with bunk beds for sleeping. Our Nature Center
is well equipped for environmental studies and rocket building, and our
two firepit areas are great for camp gatherings and marshmallow roasting.
With a 30 foot climbing wall, a zip line that takes campers on a 500 foot
ride, low ropes courses, a natural swimming hole, canoes, and the Shenandoah
River at our doorstep, camp life is buzzing with activity all year long.
